Fear Of the Lord is the seventh and final gift of the Holy
Spirit. This is probably the most misunderstood gift of the Holy Spirit. To
Fear the Lord is to have a desire not to offend Him in any way. A part of this
gift is the certainty that the Lord will provide us with the grace we need in
order to keep from offending Him. A true Fear of the Lord allows us to not
offend God because we love Him and we fear offending Him because it hurts him.
That is the final Gift of the Holy Spirit. Now we need an
acronym that helps us to remember the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit in their
proper order:
Wisdom
Understanding
Counsel
Fortitude
Knowledge
Piety
Fear of the Lord
